The Boys!!!

We would like to introduce Griffin Edward Mountel and Brogan Daniel Mountel!

Griffin was born at 5:06 pm at 6#8oz (left side of pictures)
Brogan was born at 5:07 pm at 7# 3oz (right side of pictures)

Both came out screaming which was wonderful!  The boys had APGAR scores of 9 and they and Heather are doing well!

Heading to the OR

As I came down the hall to go back into the OR with Heather a group of staff were surrounding Heather and betting on whether or not I would kiss her. I did much to the amusement of our main nurses.

Babies Update - December 17, 2008

I know it's been a while - so I thought I'd provide an update. We had our last OB appointment today. I am currently 37 weeks. We started with an ultrasound and the boys look great. They are estimated to be 6lbs 14oz & 7 lbs 1oz. I guess we'll see how big they are when they are born. We also scheduled our C-section today. It looks like the boys will be born no later then December 23rd.

Part of me is hoping the boys will come on Sunday (December 21st) - it's my grandfather's birthday. Then again - they are already sharing their birthday, maybe they shouldn't have to share it with someone else :)

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the Holiday Season. Have a Merry Christmas!

Still Cooking!

Well it's only been two months since we last posted and a lot has happened since then.  Heather is still keeping those boys to herself.  Baby A is about 5 pounds and baby B about 6 pounds.

We spent last Saturday at the hospital allllllll day as Heather's contractions intensified and became quite frequent.  They monitored Heather all day and sent us home about 9:30 pm.  Since then Heather has remained uncomfortable but the contractions have lessened a bit.

We have slowly but surely been preparing the house for their arrival.  Will we really ever be ready???

Reilly is awesome!  She is cruising about on her own two legs and talking up a storm.  Micaela is enjoying High School and cheerleading.  Jackie is heading into exam week at the University of Cincinnati.  She is doing very well and is looking forward to a break from school.

Heather has been amazing.  Working everyday and carrying those twins is a task worthy of the highest praise!  Fortunately she will be working from home here and there until the babies are born so there will be less stress and strain from dealing with an 8 hour day plus almost 2 hours of driving.

Our true due date is 12/25 so we should have some additional news for you between now and then.  (Hopefully closer to then!)
